At ECM Counseling, we are here to show that small changes can lead to meaningful personal growth. We are here to empower humans to know they have a choice, and they can live fully and authentically as themselves. We believe that suffering is optional, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Our unique approach combines authenticity, compassionate support and connection to help you dig deep and ask the tough questions that elevate your life and well-being.

About Us

ECM Counseling Background Story

Katie Hoffman-Reed started ECM Counseling to honor the women who raised her. For most of her career, she was both a first responder and a therapist. She has over 20 years of experience as a first responder and 17 years as a therapist, bringing a unique perspective and approach to therapy and counseling.

When she started ECM Counseling in 2022, she wanted to make a difference in the world because she saw first-hand how many people weren’t able to get the care and support they needed for mental health, substance abuse, and so much more.

ECM Counseling now provides therapy in-person at our Florida office and telehealth appointments in Pennsylvania. Our team is growing and we are here to provide therapy services leading the way for healing, growth, and expansion as our clients learn to stand in their authenticity.

We believe in providing holistic and inclusive care.

Our team believes that together healing is possible and it doesn’t have to take forever either. By digging deep, having tough conversations, and by making new choices.

Our Values & Commitment to You

Safe Space to Create the Freedom to Be Yourself

At ECM we show up as we are, and you can show up as who you are. We are not going to ask you to do anything that we are not willing to do. By being human together we can learn to be vulnerable, live as ourselves, and fully embrace every part of who we are.

You are an important human, and this is about being and celebrating all of who you are.

We’re in This Together

This is the support, empathy,  care, trust, respect and loyalty that we bring to our clients. We like to ask tough questions, actively listen, and understand you. We are on this rollercoaster together.

We are here to navigate the ups and downs, empower you to have a voice, sit in the uncomfortable, make new choices, and get you to a space where you feel more confident in being who you want to be. Teamwork makes the dream work. Ultimately, we’re here to help you find the freedom where you know anything is possible.

Your Time & Focus is Valuable

At ECM Counseling, we believe that we have the ability to choose what and where we put our time and focus. Life is precious. When we put our energy towards things that do not support us, it overwhelms us.

As part of the healing journey, it’s important to acknowledge that we can choose where we put our time, energy and focus. It is time to stop going through the motions, and to start saying no to things you no longer want to do. This is about living life on your terms, so you can be and do the things that you actually want too.

We’re here to help you discover that your time and energy is a gift, and where you choose to put that focus truly matters.

Conversations That Have a Point

Let’s be real, I’m not here to avoid anything. We are going to dig deep, talk about it, real and raw, together. This is about getting uncomfortable and asking the hard questions. Through these conversations, we will discover what’s there for you, what you want, and what you want to do about it.

This is a marathon, not a sprint; it’s a process, so even if you feel scared, it takes a while to make that change. We’re gonna keep on swimming, swimming, swimming, swimming. The point is to help you get to where you want to be, free from the loops in your head, and the overwhelm of life.

Suffering is Optional, Healing is a Choice

Life is about taking actions towards what’s possible. It’s about being who we want to be and living life to the fullest. We all go through things we don’t want to, or plan on. We must acknowledge it, and recognize it, and know we have a choice on what we do with the lessons and the things we learned from our experiences.

We are here to shift and make the changes necessary to stop suffering. Your willingness to do the work, will drastically influence your ability to be free from what limits you.
